PAIA and access to records
The draft manual outline and formal access-request resources.
Version: perka-legal-draft-2026-10-28/paia
Manual status
Perka is based at 1 Kingfisher Drive, Randfontein, Gauteng, 1755, South Africa. This page is an outline for Perka's Promotion of Access to Information Act manual, not a completed section 51 manual. The operating legal person and remaining processing particulars must be confirmed for the final manual.
Information Officer: Dip Rawal. For access-to-information enquiries, use legal@joinperka.com or the business address above.
What the completed manual will contain
The manual will be completed against the Information Regulator's private-body template, including:
- The body's identity, contact details, Information Officer, and availability of the manual and the Regulator's PAIA guide.
- Automatically available records, records available under other legislation, and subjects/categories of records held.
- Personal-information processing purposes, categories of data subjects and information, recipients, planned cross-border flows, and a general description of safeguards.
- How to submit a request, establish authority and the relevant right, obtain a decision, and use applicable complaint or court remedies.
- Applicable prescribed fees, exemptions, procedures, and update arrangements.
Working record inventory
The current product holds account and access records, event registrations, saved vendor identifiers, privacy/marketing evidence, event/vendor content and uploaded media, and administrative/export audit records. The entity's separate corporate, employment, contractual, financial, and statutory records must be inventoried as applicable.
Listing a record category does not mean every record in it is automatically available. Requests are assessed under the applicable access rules and protections for other people's information.
Official forms and guidance
The Information Regulator provides the PAIA guide, a private-body manual template, Form 2 for access requests, and complaint resources. Use the current official materials rather than an unverified fee or form copied into this draft.
To complete before publication
- Complete and approve the operating entity's PAIA manual; no final manual or download is available yet.
- Confirm the operating legal person, record categories, applicable legislation, processing particulars, and current fees/procedures. Business address and Information Officer have been supplied.
